ANZAC Day March – Friday 25th April 2025
Students are invited to participate in the ANZAC Day March in Rockhampton on Friday 25 April 2025 and we encourage all students from Prep to Year 6 to march.
All students who march need to be in correct school uniform including navy socks and black shoes and wear a school hat and sunscreen and bring a small water bottle with them. Please also ensure that they have been to the toilet at home beforehand, as there is no option to use bathroom facilities during the assembly or March itself. If they are wearing medals that belonged to a family member or friend, they are to be worn on the right-hand side.
The students will be supervised by school staff with parent participation to be kept to a minimum if possible, due to the volume of participants in the march. Parents are invited to cheer the marchers on.
The March will step off from the intersection of Archer and Alma Streets at 9.57am. The March route follows Archer Street, Victoria Parade and continues along Quay Street and is anticipated to finish by approximately 10.30am.
The Hall State School is in Group 2 and is to assemble in Alma Street between Archer and Fitzroy Streets (alongside Target). Please look for the school banner. The Parade Marshalls will give further details on the day. Students are to assemble there by 9.30am. Please take your child/children to a School staff member who will mark your child on our roll and supervise for the duration of the March.
At the completion of the March, schools will disperse on Quay Street in the carpark between Derby and Stanley Streets. Parents are to find a School staff member and sign the roll before collecting your child/children.
We look forward to your child’s participation in the ANZAC Day March.
Kind regards,
Mrs Katie Bull

Attendance
At The Hall State School, we understand that regular attendance is a vital part of a student's success. Consistent school attendance not only ensures students stay up-to-date with their schoolwork but also helps them build essential skills like responsibility, time management, discipline and social skills.
Research shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well academically, socially, and emotionally. They benefit from a structured learning environment, have access to support, and can engage with their peers and teachers effectively.
Why Attendance Matters
Academic Growth: Missing even a few days of school can set students back, especially when important lessons or projects are being worked on.
Social Development: Regular school attendance allows students to build and maintain strong relationships with classmates and teachers, promoting teamwork and communication skills.
Building Responsibility: Being present at school regularly fosters a sense of discipline and responsibility that will serve students well throughout their education and beyond.
We encourage all families to support students in maintaining a strong attendance record, as every day counts! If your child is struggling with attendance, please reach out to us so we can work together to identify and address any challenges.
Remember, missing just one day per week from school equates to 40 days per year. If this pattern continues throughout primary school this will equated to 280 days, or 1.4 years out of the classroom. Over the course of Prep – Year 12 this would equate to 520 days, or 2.6 years out of the classroom.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kind regards,
Mr Cameron Preston
Deputy Principal
